Procurement of High-Quality Equipment
1-Crushing
1-1-Primary Crushing
The first stage of mineral processing begins with crushing, using crushers to achieve a desired degree of liberation while minimizing fines production. Generally, crushing operations are dry and are carried out in two or three stages. The first stage of crushing involves blasting, during which pieces up to 1.5 meters in size are produced at the mining site. These larger pieces are then reduced to sizes of 10 to 20 cm by primary crushers and are transported by conveyors to secondary crushers for further crushing. If necessary, a third-stage crusher may also be used. Primary crushers include jaw and gyratory crushers, while secondary crushers consist of cone, roll, impact, and hammer crushers.
2-1-Grinding
The final stage of crushing is grinding the materials. In this stage, particle size reduction occurs through two mechanisms: impact and abrasion, both in dry and wet conditions. Mills are typically constructed as rotating cylindrical steel chambers. During the grinding process, particles sizes are reduced from approximately 250–5 mm to 300–10 microns. The greatest energy consumption in processing plants is associated with the grinding stage, which accounts for around 50% of the total energy consumption. Types of mills include autogenous mills, semi-autogenous mills, ball mills, rod mills , and high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR).
2- Mineral Processing
Mineral Processing refers to the set of operations performed on raw ore materials to produce one or more valuable products and a waste product (tailing). The methods of processing can be categorized into three main groups: physical, chemical, and physicochemical methods. In physical methods, separation is based on physical properties such as specific gravity, magnetic properties, electrical conductivity, etc. In physicochemical methods, separation is achieved through the wettability properties of minerals (flotation), while in chemical methods, processing is based on differences in thermal properties (pyrometallurgy), solubility (hydrometallurgy), and electrical potential (electrometallurgy).
