Challenges and Prospects of Fine Sulfide Particle Recovery
Flotation is a widely used mineral processing method for upgrading copper sulfide ores. In this process, copper sulfide particles are concentrated in the froth phase, while gangue minerals are separated as tailings.
However, a significant amount of copper can still be lost to the tailings during mineral processing. Therefore, copper processing plant tailings can be considered as secondary resources or potential future copper reserves.
The recovery of fine sulfide particles remains one of the key challenges in mineral processing, as their small particle size can adversely affect flotation performance and reduce overall mineral recovery.
