
Publication of an International Review Paper by the Farabin Team on Energy Optimization in Stirred Mills
Saman Fanavar Farabin International Mining and Metals Development Company has successfully published an international review paper entitled “A Critical Review of Innovations in Stirred Mill Technology for Enhancing Energy Efficiency”, in collaboration with leading researchers from renowned research centers and universities.
As part of its mission to advance technical knowledge and improve productivity across the mining industry, Farabin contributed to this comprehensive review of recent innovations in stirred mill technology and their role in enhancing energy efficiency, improving grinding performance, and enabling the recovery of ultrafine particles in mineral processing operations.
The study provides a detailed comparison of particle breakage mechanisms in stirred mills and conventional ball mills and examines key parameters affecting energy consumption, including stress intensity, impeller speed, grinding media size, and slurry rheology.
The findings indicate that the application of stirred mills can result in energy savings of up to 50% while significantly improving the efficiency of fine and ultrafine particle recovery. However, challenges such as internal component wear and limitations in processing coarser feed particles remain areas requiring further research and technological development.
The publication of this paper represents a valuable step toward the development and adoption of innovative and sustainable technologies in mineral processing, while further strengthening Farabin’s contribution to international scientific and technical collaboration.
