Flotation can maximize the recovery of gold associated with sulfide minerals while allowing the remaining tailings to be directly discharged to the tailings management facility. It can also provide an economically attractive processing route. Key parameters affecting gold flotation include grinding fineness, pulp density, reagent dosage, flotation time, and other operating conditions. These parameters are generally optimized through experimental tests, laboratory flotation tests, and operating experience.<\/p>\n<p>Flotation is particularly suitable for fine-grained gold-bearing sulfide ores with good floatability. Carrier flotation can also be applied, in which sulfide concentrates act as carrier particles for fine gold-bearing minerals. Flotation can also be applied to polymetallic sulfide ores containing gold, as well as carbonaceous gold ores. For refractory ores that cannot be effectively processed directly by amalgamation or conventional cyanidation, an integrated process incorporating flotation may be required as part of the overall treatment route.<\/p>\n<p>The design of the flotation circuit is one of the key factors affecting mineral recovery. The appropriate circuit configuration primarily depends on the mineralogical and processing characteristics of the ore, while factors such as operational simplicity, low operating costs, and maximum recovery of valuable minerals must also be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Flotation equipment primarily consists of different types of mechanical flotation machines. Common equipment types include XJK, JJF, SF, and BF flotation cells. Modern column flotation cells are also used in selected gold processing operations. Mechanically agitated, aerated flotation cells are among the widely applied flotation technologies. Their advantages include simple structure, uniform air dispersion, relatively low impeller speed, low energy consumption, and reduced wear. Flotation cells can also be manufactured at large scale.
